Fouad Sawari, a 41-year-old resident of Divandareh, was killed on November 19, 2022, during the nationwide protests following the state killing of Zhina Amini. In one of the 16-meter alleyways of Divandareh, after an altercation with two security forces of the Islamic Republic, he was shot at extremely close range in the right side of his lower back by one of the officers and killed.
Fouad Sawari died before he could be transferred to Imam Khomeini Hospital. His brother managed to remove his body from the hospital before it was seized by security forces of the Islamic Republic. He was buried without any death certificate being issued.
Fouad Sawari was married and the father of two children.
