Ehsan Ghasemifar, a 36-year-old man from Kangavar, Kermanshah, and a resident of Karaj, was detained on November 30, 2022 during the nationwide protests following the state killing of Jina Amini and after the defeat of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national football team in the Qatar World Cup. He was arrested in one of the alleys in the Sar-Asiab area by five Basij members affiliated with the Islamic Republic’s security forces. After his arrest, he was subjected to torture and severe beatings, and due to the injuries he sustained, he died before reaching the hospital.
Ehsan Ghasemifar’s burial ceremony was held on December 4, 2022 under heavy security measures.
