Amir Hossein Basati, born in 2006 in Kermanshah, was killed at the age of 16 on September 21, 2022 during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement by security forces.
He participated in protests against the government-sanctioned killing of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini on September 21 in Sepah Street (Garage Square), Kermanshah, and was shot at close range in the chest and back with a shotgun, receiving over 80 bullets.
Basati’s family spent a week searching for their child at hospitals, police stations, and government and security offices, but received no answers. After a video of a teenager being killed was circulated on social media, showing their child’s last moments, the security forces reluctantly confirmed Amir Hossein’s death to the family.
The Intelligence Organization of the IRGC’s Nabi Akram Brigade in Kermanshah, after obtaining a written commitment and receiving payment for the bullets, delivered Amir Hossein’s body to the family on September 30, 2022, on the condition that it be transferred and buried in his paternal village, Dar Khor, Hasan Abad, in Eslamabad-e Gharb County, Kermanshah Province. His body was buried the same day.
