Amir Farastishad, a 22-year-old from Piranshahr, was shot on 18 November 2022 during the nationwide protests following the state killing of Zhina Amini. He was targeted in the Kamarbandi neighborhood of Piranshahr by security forces of the Islamic Republic, who fired two live rounds at him. One bullet caused severe injury to his left kidney, and he died before reaching the hospital.
His funeral ceremony was held under heavy security presence—with numerous plainclothes officers—in the Hazrat Esmaeil Mosque in Piranshahr, where a large number of residents attended.
Amir Farastishad was married and the father of a young child.
