According to published information, Leila Abolhasani, a 43 year old citizen and mother of two teenage daughters, has been sentenced to death by Branch 5 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Isfahan, presided over by Judge Vahid Hematnejad, on the charge of “Moharebeh” (enmity against God). This preliminary sentence has been appealed, and the case is currently under review by the Supreme Court.

Ms. Abolhasani was arrested on the evening of January 8, 2026, coinciding with the protests in Shahin Shahr, and transferred to Dolatabad Prison in Isfahan.
