Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on the second day of the “Bit & Heyran” festival in Sardasht County, Omar Ahmad, known as Resooka, approximately 43 years old and originally from Peshdar (Qaladze), a journalist with AVA Media, was arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces along with his filming team.
According to Hana’s sources, Omar Ahmad and the members of his team — who had traveled to the region to prepare a report on the Mahabad Halparke dance festival as well as to cover the “Bit & Heyran” festival in Sardasht — were arrested during the second day of the event by IRGC Intelligence and subsequently transferred to a detention facility in Orumiyeh.
It should be noted that, as of the time of this report’s publication, no information is available regarding the fate of this Kurdish journalist or the team accompanying him.
