Shamal Khediripour, a 32-year-old man from Mahabad, was shot in the chest and abdomen by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on November 18, 2022, during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Zhina Amini, following the funeral of Azad Hosseinpour in Esteghlal Square in Mahabad. He was severely injured and, after six days in a coma—with no vital signs and a level-two consciousness—he passed away on November 24, 2022, at Imam Khomeini Hospital in Orumiyeh.
Shamal Khediripour was married and the father of a daughter.
