Jamal Azami, a 34-year-old resident of Javanrud, was killed on 21 November 2022 during the nationwide protests against the government’s killing of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini. He was returning to Behdari Street to help Tahsin Miri, who had been injured, when he was shot in the back by direct fire from a DShK heavy machine gun operated by Iranian security forces. He was first taken to his family home and then transferred to Javanrud Hospital, where he died due to severe bleeding.
