The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Saturday, October 25, 2025, extensive forest areas in Marivan County caught fire after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shelled border regions of the area. The fire is reportedly still ongoing.
According to an informed source, the artillery attack—carried out under the pretext of targeting Kurdish opposition parties—set ablaze the forested areas of Spi Khani (Chenareh), located in the Sarshiw district of Marivan County.
Despite claims of “securing the borders,” this military action has led to the destruction of the region’s environment and vegetation.
