According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Monday, September 1, 2025 (Shahrivar 10, 1404), a worker identified as Jafar Bahrami, son of Majid, originally from the village of Golan in the Komasi region and a resident of Mariwan, lost his life in a workplace accident.
According to Hana’s sources, he was working at the Bashmaq stone-crushing factory when the accident occurred, which resulted in his death.
It should be noted that in recent years, due to the lack of workplace safety measures and employers’ negligence toward occupational health and safety standards, workplace accidents in Kurdistan and other parts of Iran have been on the rise. Based on international human rights and labor conventions, governments are obligated to ensure the health and safety of working environments for labourers.
