According to the reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization; On Monday evening, February 20, 2023, a prisoner with the identity of “Saeid Salimifar”, 35 years old, son of Mustafa, from Sultanabad village, 35 km from the road of Selmas and prisoner in the Islamic Republic of Iran Prison in Urmia, committed suicide by taking pills and ended his life.
This informed source added that the named person committed suicide in protest against the constant pressure of the prison inspector.
Also, this source announced that due to the pressure of the security institutions of the Islamic Republic on the family of this prisoner, they were forced to announce the death of their child as a cardiac arrest.
This citizen was arrested by the government forces 11 years ago on charges of treason.
