Hana; On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Mozhgan Kavousi, a former political prisoner and one of the detainees of nationwide protests, was acquitted by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sari of the charge of “corruption on earth” (Mofsid-filarz) and charged with 8 months for propaganda against the regime, 18 months for insulting the leader of Islamic Republic, and 39 months for gathering and colluding against the country’s security in prison. This verdict can be appealed and contested in the appeals courts.
It is worth mentioning that Mozhgan Kavousi is at Qaem-Shahr prison and her detention order has been extended recently.
Mozhgan Kavousi was arrested by the government forces at her personal home in Nowshahr on Thursday, September 22, 2022, and after the interrogation process was completed, she was transferred to Tonekabon prison on Thursday, October 27, 2022, and finally, she was transferred to Qaem-Shahr prison on Friday, December 16, 2022.
