According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Khaled Shir, also known as Khaled Abdullah Haji, from Alwatan village in Mirabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, was shot by Iranian military forces in the Dasht-e Vazina area near the Goyzeh border heights.
According to the information received, Khaled Shir earned a living in the area through livestock herding and small-scale trading. He sustained severe injuries in the shooting and was transferred to a medical facility in Orumiyeh. Due to the severity of his gunshot wounds, he died on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
