Uncertainty Surrounds the Fate of Nowzad Bahrami, a Civil Activist from Marivan

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, more than 14 days have passed since the arrest of Nowzad Bahrami, a civil activist from Dehratfi village, a district of Marivan. However, no precise information about his fate and condition has been made available so far.

Nowzad Bahrami was arrested on February 1, 2025, by security forces at the Bashmaq border crossing while returning from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. His arrest took place without the presentation of any judicial documents, and he was subsequently transferred to Sanandaj Prison.

According to Hana’s sources, during these 14 days of detention, Mr. Bahrami has been deprived of all his basic human rights, including the right to meet or contact his family and to have a lawyer of his own choosing.
