Two morer women committed suicide in Saqqez

On Monday, February 8, two women committed suicide in the city of Saqez.

The report states that "Fereshteh Sharifi" and "Shehin Arefi" were the two women from Saqez who committed suicide on Monday February 8/2021.

The cause of both suicide were  social problems and family disputes.

According to reports received by the International Network  of Iranian Kurdistan Human Rights, sixteen  people have committed suicide in Iranian Kurdistan since the beginning of the year.
Nine Of these, were women and another woman was burned to death  in Oromia because of what is called honor defense.

In Iran and Kurdistan, the number of unsuccessful suicides is usually not reflected much, and the statistics are higher than what is officially announced. Some suicides leading to death are also denied in the early stages, but such incidents are often rumored and heard among the people.

Suicide among women is due to changes in culture and society, as well as resistance by men and the law to women's rights.

The main cause of women's suicide can be attributed to poverty due to the lack of a proper economic program and the patriarchal system that governs this society, which is not willing to accept the changes that have taken place in the field of culture and society in favor of women.
