Based on reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the death sentence of a prisoner identified as Changiz Ghafouri, from Mahabad County, was carried out at Bukan Central Prison.
According to received reports, the prisoner had previously been arrested on charges of “premeditated murder” and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
