According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Kianoush Cheraghi, a political prisoner, is in a severely deteriorated mental state. He has repeatedly stated that his place of detention is “not a prison, but a place of exile.”
Kianoush Cheraghi was held for 25 days in solitary confinement, in what is known as the “white room” — a windowless cell with a constantly lit lightbulb and no access to basic amenities.
Additionally, a new case has been opened against him, and a court hearing is scheduled to be held inside the prison on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
A close relative of his also has a court session on the same day, and there is hope that the proceedings will take place fairly and without security interference.
The Hana Human Rights Organization expresses deep concern about this prisoner’s psychological and physical condition and calls for the immediate attention of international bodies and monitors regarding the situation of political prisoners in Iran.
