Report on a Human Rights Session in the Italian Parliament with the Presence of a Hana Human Rights Organization Member

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Ms. Meysoon Majidi, a human rights activist and member of Hana Human Rights Organization, attended a human rights session in the Italian Parliament.

The session was also attended by Mr. Marco Grimaldi, a member of the Italian Parliament, Mr. Riccardo Noury, spokesperson for Amnesty International in Italy, Ms. Laura Boldrini, President of the Human Rights Commission, and Ms. Parisa Nazari, a human rights activist.

During the meeting, several key issues were discussed, including:
• The rights of refugees, particularly the human rights implications of Article 12 of the so-called “Cutro Law” (which grants Italian police broad authority to conduct investigations on migrant ships without adhering to many human rights and refugee protection standards, treating all passengers as potential criminals).
• Protection of activists and political prisoners
• Expelling individuals affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran
• The possibility of designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization

Additionally, part of the session was dedicated to discussing the cases of Pakshan Azizi and Verisheh Moradi, two Kurdish political prisoners, and addressing the severe human rights violations in Kurdistan and other regions of Iran.
