Hana: On Monday, December 18, 2023, Mozhgan Kaousi, a civil activist and a political prisoner from Kelardasht, Mazandaran, was arrested after being summoned to the criminal sentence enforcement branch of this city and was transferred to Tnkabon prison in Mazandaran to serve 39 months of imprisonment.
Earlier, Ms. Kaousi was sentenced to 15 months and one day in prison for insulting the leadership, 39 months in prison for collusion against the country's security, and 8 months in prison for propaganda activities against the regime. With the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, 39 months of imprisonment is applicable as the severest punishment for this civil activist.
Mozhgan Kaousi was arrested by the security forces in her personal home in Kelardasht on September 22, 2022, and then on Tuesday January 3, 2023, she was released from Qaim Shahr prison after posting a heavy bail of 3 billion tomans.
It should be mentioned that Mozhgan Kaousi was accused of "corruption on earth" (Moharebeh) by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Sari on "December 20, 2022" and then acquitted of this charge by the same court.
