According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a 22-year-old Kurdish citizen named Mehdi Zarei, from Qorveh County, was killed during public protests in the Narmak neighborhood of Tehran as a result of direct gunfire by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It should be noted that Mehdi Zarei’s body was found in Kahrizak, Tehran, and based on the number recorded on his body, he was identified as 11635 among the victims registered in Kahrizak.
