According to the Hana Human Rights Organization, Ehsan Hosseinipour, a 19-year-old citizen who was arrested by security forces on 8 January 2026 and sentenced to death following a show trial, is at imminent risk of execution.
According to received information, he was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture during detention in order to extract forced confessions.
Security agents, as part of a pre-designed scenario, attributed charges such as arson of a mosque and murder to him, and the court issued a death sentence on the charge of “enmity against God,” relying solely on confessions obtained under torture.
The Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that Ehsan Hosseinipour was deprived of all fundamental defense rights throughout his detention and trial, including access to a lawyer of his choice, even under the minimum legal standards of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hana considers this trial to be merely an extension of a security-driven scenario within the judiciary aimed at instilling fear among citizens and expresses deep concern over the imminent risk of the execution being carried out.
