According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, Dr. Javad Alikurdi, a lawyer and the brother of Khosrow Alikurdi (who died under suspicious circumstances), has been arrested by security forces in the city of Mashhad.
Official media of the Islamic Republic, including the website Eghtesad 24, have claimed that the reasons for the arrest of Javad Alikurdi were allegedly disrupting public order, attempting to create an atmosphere of tension and unrest, and inciting those present at his brother Khosro Alikurdi’s memorial ceremony.
It is worth noting that previously, during the seventh-day memorial ceremony for Khosrow Alikurdi, several civil and political activists—including Narges Mohammadi, Sepideh Gholian, Hasti Amiri, Pouran Nazemi, and Aliyeh Motalebzadeh—had also been arrested by security authorities.
