Diyar Pourchehriq was killed in Tehran during the January protests after being directly shot by security forces

Hana Human Rights Organization, based on field data and reliable sources, confirms the identity of another victim of the protests in Tehran.

Diyar Pourchehriq, 32 years old, son of Ali, originally from the village of Chehriq and a resident of the village of Petavir in Salmas County, was killed on Sunday, January 11, 2026, during the protests in the Punak neighborhood of Tehran, as a result of direct gunfire by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to received reports, Diyar Pourchehriq had recently traveled to Tehran after purchasing a vehicle, intending to earn a living through passenger transport. While present at the protest site, and without posing any threat to security forces, he was targeted with live ammunition and killed.

Hana Human Rights Organization expresses its deep condolences to the family and survivors of this victim and emphasizes the necessity of conducting independent, transparent, and impartial investigations into the conduct of security forces toward protesters, as well as holding accountable and prosecuting those responsible for ordering and carrying out these killings.
