At least nine Kurdish citizens were arrested by security forces in Kermanshah

Following ongoing security crackdowns on the January protests, at least nine Kurdish citizens have been arrested by security forces in the cities of Sarpol-e Zahab and Kermanshah.

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at least seven citizens from Sarpol-e Zahab, Mehdi Karimi, Jabar Jamshidi, Qaem Badri, Masoud Aghaei, Ahad Moradi, Esfandiar Sarvari, and Askar Najafi, were arrested by security forces.

Additionally, on the evening of Thursday, January 1, 2026, at least two other citizens from Kermanshah, Younes Jamshidi and Ali Najafi, were arrested by security forces.

It should be noted that as of the time of publication of this report, no information is available regarding the physical condition or place of detention of these individuals.
