Arrest of 10 Individuals by Security Forces in Sanandaj

Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that in the early hours of Sunday, 14 Dey 1404 (4 January 2026), security forces, in simultaneous raids on the homes of several citizens in Sanandaj County, arrested at least 10 individuals without any judicial warrants.

According to this report, at around 7:00 a.m., plainclothes security agents entered the homes of the following individuals—whose identities have been verified by Hana—Keyvan Zand Karimi, Delir Eskandari, Arman Salimi, Khaled Seifpanahi, Jamal Khodarahmi, Khabat Asadi, and Ghaneh Khatari, and arrested them.

During these unlawful arrests, the mobile phones of these citizens and their spouses, along with other personal electronic devices, were illegally confiscated by security forces.

Later the same day, Shaho Mohammadi and Bayan Farajollahi were arrested inside the Sanandaj bazaar. Additionally, according to information received, another individual identified as Varya Moayed was arrested by security forces while taking his child to school.

It is worth noting that, as of the time of publication of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against these individuals, the arresting authority, or their place of detention.

Hana Human Rights Organization, while expressing deep concern over the extrajudicial arrests and the uncertain situation of these individuals, holds the Prosecutor of Sanandaj and the Director General of Intelligence of Kurdistan Province directly responsible for safeguarding their lives.
