According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the death sentence of Salman Kakehkhani, a prisoner from Baneh county, was carried out in Tabriz Central Prison.
According to received information, Salman Kakehkhani was arrested approximately three years ago, in 2023, on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz.
Based on available information, the execution of Salman Kakehkhani took place while his wife had lost her life to electrocution about a month prior. Consequently, the family’s only child, a 12-year-old, has been left orphaned and without a guardian following the loss of both parents.
