According to the official statement of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan, on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, a vehicle belonging to the party exploded on the Sulaymaniyah–Dokan road, near Kelewanan. In this incident, Saeed (Hersh) Ranjbar, a Peshmerga of the party, was killed, and another Peshmerga identified as Aram Bahrami was injured. The Sulaymaniyah Asayesh forces are investigating the cause of the explosion.
Separately, the Telegram channel Saberin News, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, claimed that the incident resulted from a “drone attack” by the Islamic Republic; however, this claim has not been confirmed by any official authorities.
The Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that the use of drones by the Islamic Republic has repeatedly violated the right to life, and the international community has consistently criticized and condemned the regime for manufacturing and deploying inherently lethal drones.
Hana calls for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation by the Kurdistan Region authorities and the public disclosure of its findings.
