January protests / Amir Mohammad Arbab Pouri lost his life after being directly shot by regime security forces

According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, 8 January 2026, a child identified as Amir Mohammad Arbab Pouri, from Bariyeh Sofla village, a subsidiary of Harsin, lost his life after being directly shot by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during protests in the Moallem neighborhood of Kermanshah.

According to Hana’s sources, security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran had pressured Amir Mohammad’s family to state that their child was killed by protesters.

The body of Amir Mohammad Arbab Pouri was handed over to his family in exchange for 700 million tomans and was buried on 10 January 2026 in his hometown village.

It should be noted that security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran have conditioned the release of the bodies of those killed during the protests on the payment of substantial sums. At the same time, families have been subjected to security pressure to refrain from any public disclosure and to repeat official narratives presented by security agencies regarding the circumstances of their children’s deaths—narratives in which responsibility is attributed to protesters or armed individuals.
