The number of detainees in Ilam has risen to 27

Amid the continuation of security crackdowns on the January protests, at least 27 Kurdish citizens have been arrested by security forces in the cities of Dareh Shahr, Dehloran, and Abdanan, located in Ilam Province.

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Friday, 2 January 2026, two citizens, including a 15-year-old child, identified as Omid Beiranvand and Kourosh Nouri, both from Dehloran, were arrested by security forces.

Earlier, on Thursday, 1 January 2026, Iman Alimoradi, from Abdanan, was also arrested by security forces.

Hana sources further reported that on the same night, two other citizens, Mohammadjavad Zarei, from Murmuri, Abdanan County, and Mohammad Hasanvand, from Dareh Shahr, Ilam Province, were arrested by security forces.

In addition, 15 other citizens identified as Amirhossein Alizadeh, Fardin Aghaei, Abolfazl Jamkhaneh, Sajad Azad, Abdollah Azad, Erfan Farahmand, Alireza Rahmani, Amirreza Rahmani, Sharif Azad, and Shayan Momeni have also been arrested by security forces in Ilam Province.

All detainees have been transferred to undisclosed locations, and as of the time of this report, no information is available regarding their whereabouts or conditions.

It should be noted that, including previous arrests related to the January protests, the total number of detainees in Ilam Province has reached 27.
