Hana’s report on the violent arrest of six citizens by security forces in Marivan

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Sunday, December 28, 2025, security forces raided several residential homes, arresting a number of individuals and taking them away unlawfully.

During the raids, the forces conducted thorough searches of the homes and confiscated all personal belongings of family members, including mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. They introduced themselves as “agents of the Ministry of Intelligence with judicial warrants,” yet no warrants were shown to the families.

As of the time of this report, Hana has not been able to fully verify the identities of all those detained. According to Hana’s preliminary information, those arrested include: Zanko Karimi, son of Eqbal, from Lavizan, married and the father of a 3-year-old child; Hatam from Saif village; Rafiq from Ziviran village; Abdollah and Loqman Razin, both sons of Mahmoud and Rabeeh, from Chalisur village; as well as another individual who is a shopkeeper.

During the arrests, security forces violently threatened the families, warning them against any form of information-sharing.

According to Hana’s investigations, there is still no official information available regarding the detaining authority or the whereabouts of these individuals.

Expressing serious concern over the fate of those detained, Hana calls on anyone who can assist in fully identifying these individuals to contact the organization. All of Hana’s investigations are conducted confidentially and in accordance with the highest standards for the protection of individuals’ security.
