Sarina Saedi, a 15-year-old child from Sanandaj County, was injured by baton blows from the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on October 26, 2022, in the Naysar neighborhood of the city during the nationwide protests over the state killing of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini. She was admitted to the hospital but, due to the severity of the baton injuries, was declared brain dead and passed away on October 27, 2022.
