Hana: In recent days, two Kurdish citizens from Saqqez, identified as Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi, were sentenced to 10 months of discretionary imprisonment each by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez, presided over by Judge Mojtaba Ghaffari, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”
According to the issued verdict, five months of the sentence were suspended for two years, and the remaining five months were converted into a fine of 100 million rials (approximately 10 million tomans).
Reports indicate that this verdict was recently formally communicated to both individuals. Hiwa Amini waived his right to appeal by submitting a request for compliance with the ruling, while Bahman Feyzi has appealed the initial court decision.
These two Kurdish citizens were previously arrested on January 29, 2025 by security forces without a judicial warrant, and transferred to Shahramfar Detention Center in Sanandaj for interrogation. They were later transferred to Saqqez Prison and eventually released on bail on Thursday, February 27, 2025 pending the completion of their legal proceedings.
