As part of the ongoing wave of widespread arrests in Mahabad, two more citizens have been detained by security forces in the city.
According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Friday, June 27, 2025, a Kurdish citizen identified as Rahman Mam Esmail, from the village of Qezeljeh in the Mahabad region, was arrested by security forces at his private residence without the presentation of any judicial warrant.
Similarly, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, another citizen identified as Naser Elyasi, from the village of Beytas in Mahabad, was also arrested at his home by security forces without a court order.
It is worth noting that in recent days, at least 17 residents of Mahabad have been arrested by security forces for unknown reasons and without judicial documentation, and have been transferred to undisclosed locations.
