Release of Mamousta Loqman Amini on Bail from Hamedan Prison

According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, on Monday, June 2, 2025, Mamousta Loqman Amini, the Friday prayer leader of the Chahar Yaran Nabi Mosque in Sanandaj, was released on bail from Hamedan Prison.

Mamousta Amini was arrested on April 21, 2025, after being summoned to the Special Clerical Court in Hamedan.

This Kurdish Sunni cleric had previously been sentenced in June 2023 to 11 years of discretionary imprisonment, two years of exile to Ardabil, permanent removal of clerical status, and a ban on delivering Friday sermons. The charges against him included “propaganda against the regime in favor of a Kurdish opposition party, possession of a handgun, incitement to unrest and chaos, and support for the people and the revolutionary Jina Movement protests.”

It is worth noting that Mamousta Amini was first arrested by security forces on January 30, 2023, on the Marivan road due to his support for the Jina (Mahsa) revolutionary movement. He was temporarily released on bail on February 22, 2023.
