According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, a citizen identified as Saifollah Khan Ghafari was arrested by security forces during the Nowruz ceremony in the village of Qalakun for reciting a poem by Mamosta Qani, which included the verse:
“Ger be Azadi Nezhim merden Khalateh bo Leshm.”
Saifollah Khan Ghafari, born in 1947, is a former political prisoner, originally from the village of Bashbolagh Kultepe, and currently residing in the city of Saqqez.
According to a well-informed source, Ghafari has been transferred to the detention center of Saqqez Prison.
The source further added that Mr. Ghafari’s family has contacted security and judicial authorities to inquire about his situation. They were informed that his temporary release requires a bail of 1 billion rials (100 million tomans) and that he will remain in detention until the end of the holiday period.
