Two Labor and Civil Activists Summoned to the Intelligence Office in Sanandaj

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, labor activist and member of the “Chel Chama” mountaineering group, Rafiq Karimi, along with labor and civil activist, Farank Rafiei, both from Sanandaj, were summoned by the city’s Intelligence Office. They were interrogated and threatened for three hours.

It is worth noting that Farank Rafiei was previously arrested by security forces on September 18, 2022, and was eventually released on bail from the Sanandaj Correctional and Rehabilitation Center on November 1, 2022.

Furthermore, in connection with the strike of shopkeepers and merchants in various Kurdish cities protesting the issuance of death sentences for “Verishe Moradi and Pakhshan Azizi,” at least 17 individuals, including civil and labor activists, have been arrested or summoned over the past two days, as reported by Hana Human Rights Organization.
