Shiraz; Death of a citizen due to medical error

According to the reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization: early Wednesday, April 26, 2023, a 25-year-old citizen with the identity of “Paiman Atmani”, the son of Naji, married with a daughter and from the village of “Ajvaj” in Selmas, he died of medical error after two years of suffering in Namazi Hospital in Shiraz.

This informed source added that two years ago, the named person had visited the "Imam Reza" hospital located in Urmia, where he was mistakenly injected with an ampoule that caused him to lose 70% of his vision and his liver.

With his complaints against the doctors of Imam Reza Hospital, the case was closed by the security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was admitted to Namazi Hospital in Shiraz for a liver transplant and died at dawn today.

It should be mentioned that the number of medical malpractice is increasing in Iran and especially in Kurdistan, according to the head of the forensic physician organization, the most medical malpractice complaints are related to gynecology and obstetrics.
