Report on the participation of the Hana Human Rights Organization in the 2025 Social Forum of the United Nations Human Rights Council

The 2025 Social Forum of the United Nations Human Rights Council was held on October 30–31 at the Assembly Hall of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, under the theme “The Role of Education in Respecting, Promoting, Protecting and Fulfilling All Human Rights for All.” This annual event provides an opportunity for dialogue among governments, international institutions, academics, and civil society organizations to exchange views on fundamental human rights and social development issues.

During this year’s forum, participants emphasized the importance of education as one of the main tools for achieving social justice, equality, and human dignity. Speakers and expert groups, while sharing practical experiences from various countries, stressed the need to integrate human rights education into national education systems and sustainable development programs.

The Hana Human Rights Organization also had an active presence at this international forum. Ms. Ghazal Mohtadi, one of Hana’s investigative reporters, represented the organization in the plenary sessions and specialized working groups. Her participation aligned with Hana’s mission to raise public awareness of human rights principles, strengthen educational capacities, and promote the values of solidarity and equality.

Hana welcomes the convening of such forums and emphasizes the need to pay special attention to human rights education in marginalized regions, particularly in Kurdistan and Baluchistan. The organization also expresses its readiness to engage in joint educational, research, and capacity-building initiatives with international institutions and civil society organizations.
