Hana Human Rights Organization reports, based on information received from informed sources, that today prisoners at Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah protested in support of nationwide demonstrations in Kermanshah, Ilam, Lorestan, and other parts of Iran.
According to these reports, since this morning all visits and lawyer meetings with inmates have been completely suspended, while strict security measures have been imposed throughout the prison. The sources also report rising tensions between prisoners and the prison guard forces, as well as the mass transfer of inmates to a single ward—an action that may constitute collective punishment and violate fundamental prisoners’ rights, including access to legal counsel and contact with family.
Hana expresses serious concern over the situation and calls for the immediate lifting of these restrictions, guaranteed effective access to lawyers and family communication, and the provision of independent monitoring of conditions at Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah.
