Zaryan Hosseinzadeh the administrator of the Telegram channel Baneh Zoom was convicted following a complaint filed by the parliamentary representative of Saqqez and Baneh

The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that a female citizen identified as Zaryan Hosseinzadeh, the administrator of the Baneh Zoom news Telegram channel and a resident of Baneh, has been definitively sentenced to pay a monetary fine following a complaint filed by the parliamentary representative of Saqqez and Baneh.

According to an informed source, Mohsen Biglary, the representative for the Saqqez and Baneh constituency in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, previously filed a complaint titled “spreading false information” against Zaryan Hosseinzadeh through his lawyer, Alireza Sharifi, with the Baneh Judiciary.

The source added that following proceedings at Branch 102 of the Baneh Criminal Court, a preliminary verdict sentencing the channel administrator to pay 66 million rials in cash fines was issued. This ruling was later reviewed by Branch 13 of the Kurdistan Province Court of Appeal, where the defense lawyer’s objection was rejected and the verdict was upheld and declared final.
