Hana has been informed that on Thursday, June 26, 2025, a young Kurdish man identified as Azad Enayati, a resident of Doshan neighborhood in the outskirts of Sanandaj, was fatally shot by security forces.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke with Hana, Azad Enayati was merely passing by the checkpoint at the Marivan–Sanandaj intersection when security forces stationed there suddenly opened fire on him without issuing any warnings or commands to stop. He was killed instantly.
As of the time this report was prepared, none of the security personnel involved have been prosecuted by the Kurdistan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office or the Military Prosecutor’s Office for the killing of this civilian.
Hana confirms that following the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, state violence has systematically increased across Kurdish cities. Citizens are increasingly subjected to threats, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary deprivation of liberty.
