The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that during the protests on January 8, 2026, Yasin Mirzaei Ghaleh Zanjiri, son of Mohammad Ali and a follower of the Yarsan faith, lost his life after being directly shot by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Darreh Darijeh neighborhood of Kermanshah Province.
According to sources of the Hana Human Rights Organization, Yasin Mirzaei Ghaleh Zanjiri was a student at the University of Messina in Italy. He had migrated to Italy around three years ago to continue his studies and had recently returned to Iran to visit his family.
The Hana Human Rights Organization expresses its deep condolences to the family and survivors of the victim and emphasizes the urgent need for independent, transparent, and impartial investigations into the conduct of security forces toward protesters, as well as accountability and prosecution of all perpetrators and those who ordered these killings.
