Two Kurdish citizens lost their lives during popular protests

Hana Human Rights Organization has been informed that on Thursday, 8 January 2026, during popular protests in Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), in Kermanshah Province, two Kurdish citizens—Shirzad Balaei and Fardin Foladi—lost their lives after being directly shot by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the information received, Shirzad Balaei, a resident of Eslamabad-e Gharb, was married and the father of two children. Fardin Foladi, the other victim from the same city, was also directly targeted by live fire by regime forces on the same day during the protests.

Sources stated that the bodies of both victims were buried on Saturday, 10 January 2026, at Cheshmeh Khani Chikan Mansouri Cemetery.
