Transfer of Nazdar (Bafrin) Maroufi to Orumiyeh Central Prison to Serve Prison Sentence

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, Nazdar (Bafrin) Maroufi, a 43-year-old Kurdish woman from Bukan, was transferred to the women’s ward of Orumiyeh Central Prison to serve her prison sentence.

Based on the information received, Ms. Maroufi had previously been sentenced by Branch 101 of the Second Criminal Court of Bukan to four months and seven days of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “collaborating with one of the opposition Kurdish parties.”

Ms. Maroufi was initially arrested by security forces at her home on January 30, 2025, and transferred to Orumiyeh Prison. She was temporarily released on bail on February 15, 2025, after spending 16 days in custody.
