The Hana Human Rights Organization has been informed that, amid a continuing wave of summonses and arrests of civil and labor activists across various cities in Kurdistan, Towfiq Mahmoudi, a labor rights activist from Sanandaj, was officially summoned to the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of the county.
According to the summons issued by Branch Four of the Investigative Division of the Sanandaj General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, this labor activist is required to appear before the relevant judicial authority within five days of the notification’s posting in the official system, “to defend against the alleged charges.”
It should be noted that this summons comes at a time when security and judicial pressures on labor and civil activists across Kurdistan have increased in recent weeks, with several facing summonses, arrests, or judicial cases.
