According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, the death sentence of Sediqeh Ghorbani, the stepmother of Ava Ghahramani, was carried out at dawn on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Orumiyeh Central Prison.
Sources affiliated with Hana stated that Ava Ghahramani, a four-year-old child and the daughter of Omar and Mina Hosseinzadeh, was originally from the Kutol area of Khoy County and resided in Gug Tappeh village, located in the Tanakara district of Orumiyeh County. On the morning of Sunday, December 24, 2023, she was severely injured following abuse by her stepmother and was transferred to Motahari Hospital in Orumiyeh.
Ava Ghahramani remained hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Motahari Hospital for 11 days, but ultimately died due to the severity of her injuries and extensive brain hemorrhaging.
It is also reported that Sediqeh Ghorbani was transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison after her arrest by security forces and, following judicial proceedings, was sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
