The arrest of two brothers, Milad and Nariman Randani, media and civil activists, by security forces in Saqqez

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization: Today, Thursday, January 23, 2025, in connection with the strike by shopkeepers and merchants in various cities of Kurdistan to protest the issuance of death sentences against Pakhshan Azizi and Verishe Moradi, two brothers, Nariman and Milad Randani, civil and media activists, were arrested in Saqqez and transferred to an unknown location.

According to a source, Milad Randani, 29, is a photographer and media activist, while Nariman Randani, 35, is a civil activist.

The source further stated that Milad Randani was arrested at his workplace by security forces, who also confiscated the CCTV hard drives from the shop during the arrest. Additionally, his brother, Nariman Randani, was detained by security forces without a judicial warrant on one of the streets of Saqqez.

As of the time of this report’s publication, there is no information available about the charges against the two brothers or their place of detention.
