According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization: On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, during a strike by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants in various cities of Kurdistan in protest against the issuance of death sentences for Pakhshan Azizi and Verishe Moradi, six shopkeepers and merchants in Sanandaj were arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location.
The identities of these individuals have been confirmed by the Hana Human Rights Organization as “Sina Rezaei, Amjad Geryakhiz, Mohammad Seif Panahi, Naeim Dosti, Mohammad Atlasi, and Ahmad Mohammadi,” all residents of Sanandaj.
According to received reports, these arrests were carried out by security forces without presenting any judicial documents and involved the use of violence.
It is worth noting that Naeim Dosti and Amjad Geryakhiz are labor activists in Sanandaj and members of the “No to Execution” campaign.
Additionally, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, shopkeepers, merchants, and various professions across major cities in Kurdistan participated in a general strike. This strike was called by Kurdish political parties in support of the two Kurdish political prisoners, Pakhshan Azizi and Verishe Moradi.
