According to received reports, on Monday, April 21, 2025, Mamusta Loqman Amini, the Friday prayer leader of Chahar Yaran Nabi Grand Mosque in Sanandaj, was arrested after being summoned and appearing before the Special Clerical Court in Hamedan.
The Kurdish cleric had previously been sentenced in June 2023 to 11 years of discretionary imprisonment, two years of exile to Ardebil, permanent defrocking, and a ban on delivering Friday sermons. The charges against him included:
• Propaganda against the Islamic Republic in favor of a Kurdish opposition party,
• Possession of a handgun,
• Incitement to unrest, and
• Support for the people and the revolutionary Jinā movement.
It is worth noting that Mamusta Amini was previously arrested by security forces on January 30, 2023 on the Marivan road, due to his support for the Jina (Mahsa Amini) uprising. He was later temporarily released on February 22, 2023 after posting bail.
