The arrest and transfer of Srowa and Peyman Shiri to prison for the execution of their imprisonment sentence

Hana: On Monday, January 6, 2025, two members of the same family, 22-year-old Srowa Shiri and her 19-year-old brother Peyman Shiri, residents of the village of Targheh in Bukan County, were arrested and transferred to prison to serve their sentences.

According to reports received, Srowa Shiri was transferred to Orumiyeh Prison, while her brother Peyman Shiri was taken to Bukan Prison.

As reported by Hana’s sources, this brother and sister were sentenced to a total of 14 months in prison by Branch 101 of the Second Criminal Court of Bukan on charges of “propaganda activities against the regime in favor of a Kurdish opposition party to the Iranian government.”

Srowa Shiri received an 8-month prison sentence, while Peyman Shiri was sentenced to 6 months.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Srowa and Peyman Shiri were arrested at their family home in the village of Targheh by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant. They were subsequently transferred to a security detention center in Orumiyeh for interrogation. Ultimately, they were released on bail after completing the interrogation process.
